Dynamic opener Shafali Verma has earned her place back in the Indian national side for the upcoming England tour, following a stellar performance in the 2025 Women’s Premier League. The 20-year-old, who was dropped from the Indian squads late last year, finished as the fourth-highest run-scorer in the WPL and has now been rewarded with a spot in the T20I squad.
Joining her in the national setup is Sayali Satghare, who made her international debut earlier this year against Ireland. The promising all-rounder features in both the ODI and T20I squads, underlining the selectors’ growing faith in her versatility and form.
From the squad that featured in the recently concluded tri-series in Sri Lanka, Kashvee Gautam has been dropped. Her place has been taken by Kranti Gaud, while Sayali returns to bolster the lineup.
However, it is the T20I squad that has undergone the most significant overhaul. Yastika Bhatia and Harleen Deol have both made their way back into the side, strengthening India’s middle order. Sneh Rana, who was named Player of the Tournament in the Sri Lanka tri-series, also finds herself back in the mix.
Notably, Uma Chetry, who opened for India in their last T20I series against the West Indies, has been omitted. The selectors have opted to retain the ODI core for the T20Is as well, emphasizing continuity and depth across formats.
Tour Schedule:
- June 28: 1st T20I – Trent Bridge
